Issue #3 · Summer shorts, Colorful Standard & slow fashion

Hey there 👋

Summer is here and we welcome it with open arms. And what goes hand in hand with Summer? Shorts. We’ve pulled together a collection of the summer staples for you.

This month we check out our Copenhagen neighbours — Colorful Standard. We cover slow fashion in detail. And look at why slowing down fashion is so important.

Focus · Shorts

Twelve new shorts added to the site. All the styles you can imagine. Fitted shorts, wide shorts, sweatpant shorts. You name it.

Here are four of our faves from Riley Studio, Asket, Unrecorded and Thinking MU.

Spotlight · Colorful Standard

Based in Copenhagen — just like us. Colorful Standard sell high-quality essentials. No seasons or short-lived trends. And their name really isn't lying — there are 45 colours in their range. As bold or subtle as you fancy.

Their clothing is made in Barcelos, just north of Porto. If by chance you’re in the area — visit their factory to find out exactly how they make the clothes.

All their cotton is organic. They use non-toxic dyes and they follow a process called garment dying. This means the garments are sewed and finished completely before they’re dyed. It reduces waste as they don’t need to keep stock for every colour. Garments are dyed based on demand.

5% of their profits go to charity too. Building a community and supporting children in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
